hey there this is matt williams senior international instructor for the facts and document distribution group at opentext one of the questions ive seen come up every now and then is about ocring faxes ocr stands for optical character recognition and in the case of right facts turns your fax image into text now it cant work magic and ocr really requires a decent resolution image but as long as you use fine resolution facts you should be fine to perform an ocr you simply right click on any fax and choose ocr now if the option is grayed out it means that you dont have permission to perform ocr now this is something youre going to have to take up with your administrator to get solved now if theyve given you the permission to ocr choosing the ocr option will bring up a dialogue where you have some choices you can output pure text rtf or word document and you can use ascii text or rtf you can also specify a range of pages to ocr if you click ok you initiate the ocr process now that ocr
