[Music] hey guys in this video were just going to be talking about the types of slope the slope of a line is the slant or the steepness of a line given in a linear relationship its also called the rate of change so how quickly is the line moving vertically and horizontally from one point to the next a line with a positive slope is going to rise or it is going to go uphill rise from left to right a line with a negative slope is going to go downhill or fall from left to right so if were looking at this first example from the left side of the line to the right side of the line it is falling so that would be a negative slope so the sign on that number when we calculate the slope would be negative the left side of this line to the right side of this line it is rising from left to right so that slope would be positive and our last example from the left side of the line to the right side of the line it is decreasing so that slope would be negative now lets look at vertical and horizontal
