hello everyone in this video I want to show you how to convert a negative number to its binary representation assuming that weamp;#39;re going to use the twoamp;#39;s complement uh technique so uh the idea is very similar to when you want to convert a ons an unsigned integer to a spiny representation um Iamp;#39;m just going to explain how it works it just basically the same as the previous uh video but in this case we havenamp;#39;t uh extra step um let me explain it with an example letamp;#39;s say the the number that you want to convert to its final representation is negative 65 000. and um the idea is similar to the previous video you need to first uh divide this number by two many many times until you docHub to a quotient equal to zero and the only difference here is you need to get the absolute value first because the number is negative so you get the absolute value uh to convert negative 65 000 to 65 000 then divided by 2 get the quotient place it in B2 get the remai

For the sake of simplicity, lets assume that we are working with 8-bit signed binary values. Suppose that we start with a value of 00001110, which equates to +14 in decimal. As illustrated below, the standard way to negate this is to first invert all of the bits and then add 1, resulting in 14.
The ~ (bitwise negation) operator yields the bitwise complement of the operand. In the binary representation of the result, every bit has the opposite value of the same bit in the binary representation of the operand.
