Adding captions automatically Click Tools Options. On the Options dialog box, click on the + sign next to OpenOffice.org Writer to show a list of options. Select AutoCaption. Choose which objects you want to be automatically captioned and specify the characteristics of the captions.
Add captions On the References tab, in the Captions group, click Insert Caption. In the Label list, select the label that best describes the object, such as a figure or equation. If the list doesnt provide the label you want, click New Label, type the new label in the Label box, and then click OK.
If there is a caption, select the picture (if frame is selected first, hit enter and select the picture) cut it and paste it elsewhere, then remove the frame. If youre talking about the gray border around the pic, you can disable it in ToolsOptionsOOoAppearance, then Objects (IIRC).
Select the text you have just pasted. Select Format Default formatting from the menu bar. Use the four arrow buttons in the Text Formatting toolbar (highlighted in Figure 112) to move the text to the appropriate position and give it the appropriate outline level.
In Windows /Control Panel /Fonts /Add Font and point to the font you wish to . Fonts are a system level property. After Installing new fonts you should restart OpenOffice as it usually only finds fonts on startup. In fact, Id recommend a computer restart after installing fonts, just to be sure.
Use Word to open or save a document in the OpenDocument Text (. odt) format Click the File tab. Click Open. Click Browse, To see only the files saved in the OpenDocument format, click the list of file types next to the File name box, and then click OpenDocument Text. Click the file you want to open, and then click Open.
If the slide layout already includes textboxes, simply click on the textbox to add text. To add a text box to the slide, choose textbox option from the main toolbar and draw the text box with the mouse. Select the text that will be formatted by highlighting the text on the slide.
