To insert a picture in your document, just use the \includegraphics command in the LaTeX menu. Then, click on the browser button in the dialog to select the graphic file. Note : if you click on the + button, a figure LaTeX environment will be added automatically.
You will almost always be using this command when using floats. The \includegraphics command is part of the graphicx package and can import all the usual file formats including pdf, jpeg, png, etc. The command also accepts other options instead of scale such as rotation, height, width, bounding box, etc.
The paper size can be set to any size you need by means of the command papersize={⟨width⟩,⟨height⟩} . Here the text area, the left margin and the top margin are set. The right and bottom margins are automatically computed to fit the page.
Use \textwidth for the width of the text block, and \paperwidth if you want to fit it into the paper width. You could also use \linewidth if you want to fit the image within the line width, which may vary depending on the environment youre in (for example, within a list like enumerate ).
Latex can not manage images by itself, so we need to use the graphicx package. To use it, we include the following line in the preamble: \usepackage{graphicx} . The command \graphicspath{ {./images/} } tells LaTeX that the images are kept in a folder named images under the directory of the main document.
Making Figures in LaTeX Use the graphicx package with the following command in the preamble: \usepackage{graphicx} Insert the figure: using the figure environment as follows: \begin{figure}[!htb] \center{\includegraphics[width=\textwidth] {figures/biotensor.png}} \caption{\label{fig:my-label} My figure.
Changing the image size and rotating the picture The command \includegraphics[scale=1.5]{overleaf-logo} will include the image overleaf-logo in the document, the extra parameter scale=1.5 will do exactly that, scale the image 1.5 of its real size. You can also scale the image to a some specific width and height.
Including images in your LaTeX document requires adding: \usepackage{graphicx} to the beginning/preamble of your document. \includegraphics{ } command tells LaTeX to insert the image. To upload an image, click the upload button, and upload your image file.
In the top left corner of the editor click on the upload icon, then you can either drag and drop the files or click Select files(s) to browse in your local directories. After the uploading process is complete, you can use these images in your document.
To change a LaTeX page-style parameter, you use the \setlength command in the preamble of your LaTeX source file. For example, if you want the body of the text to be 14 centimeters wide, you type \setlength{\textwidth}{14cm} in the preamble of your LaTeX source file.
