You need to complete Form 8822-B and send it to the IRS to change the EIN Responsible Party for your LLC. If the Responsible Party for your LLC has changed, youll need to update the IRS as soon as possible, as per their requirements. Note: Form 8822-B can also be used to change your LLC address with the IRS.
You can NOT use your Registered Agents address for your EIN. On your EIN application form, you will put the physical mailing address for your business. This can be a P.O. box (depending on the state), your home address or the physical address of your business.
Dont submit a new application if you made a mistake on your original EIN form. Instead, send a letter to the IRS explaining the error and providing the correct information. This letter should be signed by an authorized representative of your company and include your current EIN.
