How do I submit letters of recommendation? Your letter writers must submit their letter electronically through the AMCAS Letter Writer Application or Interfolio. You do not review or submit your own letters of recommendation.
Interfolio Dossier Deliver is a preferred service of the AMCAS appliation, which almost all medical schools accept applications from.
In Interfolio select "AMCAS" as your designation. Select the corresponding Individual Letter(s). You will then be asked for the AAMC ID and AMCAS Letter ID found on the AMCAS Letter Request Form for each Individual Letter. Complete the delivery.
When you receive an Interfolio recommendation request email, submitting your letter for the requesters is as easy as following the link in the email, clicking “I accept,” and uploading your letter file. Log into your Dossier account, and select “Letters” from the left side of your homepage.
LoR Submission and Access Through ERAS LoR authors must register through ERAS on the Letter of Recommendation Portal, and use a letter ID that you provide on the original Letter Request Form. They may also submit their letters to your school's designated dean's office for submission directly to the ERAS PostOffice.
How do I make the request? Create your free Dossier account. Collect letters into your account by requesting recommendations. Your letter writer will receive an email from Interfolio asking them to submit your letter to your account. You will be notified once the letter has reached your account.
Email the recommender explaining that you are hoping they might be willing to write you a letter, and inquiring whether they can write you a strong letter of support. Ask if they would be willing to meet you to discuss it further.
