hello everybody Im Sean powers and today were going to learn the difference between hard links and soft links on a linux or OS 10 operating system soft links are often also called symbolic links but either way is fine either soft or symbolic both are correct ways to reference symbolic or soft links so what are we talking about whats the difference between a hard link in a soft link well it comes down to what theyre referencing so a hard link is basically a file so this is file 1 and it references or points to a spot on a hard drive so this down here is my representation of a hard drive actually the inode layout on a hard drive how the hard drive stores data so file 1 here points to a specific spot on the hard drive and thats where it stores its data if you create a hard linked file like name it file 2 for example its pointing to the exact same spot on the hard drive now what this effectively gives you is two separate files that behave just like separate files with the exception t

A URL (Uniform Resource Locator) is a unique identifier used to locate a resource on the Internet. It is also referred to as a web address. URLs consist of multiple parts -- including a protocol and domain name -- that tell a web browser how and where to retrieve a resource.
With the hyperref package ( \usepackage{hyperref} ) you can make these urls clickable in a pdf-file (which you can create with pdflatex). You can also make links which show a description of the text and not the url ( \href{URL}{text} ). Unfortunately this does not work together with LaTeX2HTML.
Select the text or picture that you want to display as a hyperlink. Press Ctrl+K. You can also right-click the text or picture and click Link on the shortcut menu.
Links to a web address or email can added to a LaTeX file using the \url command to display the actual link or \href to use a hidden link and show a word/sentence instead. There are two commands in the example that generate a link in the final document: \href{}{Something Linky}
Hyperref. The package hyperref provides LaTeX the ability to create hyperlinks within the document. It works with pdflatex and also with standard latex used with dvips and ghostscript or dvipdfm to build a PDF file.
Link sharing Click on the Share button at the top right corner of the project. Click Turn on link sharing. The shareable read-and-edit and read-only URLs will be displayed. To let someone access the project, simply send them the URL of the project.
Include \usepackage{hyperref} in the preamble of your document. Assign proper labels to your sections and reference these labels using \ref{} . These references will then be turned into clickable links when creating PDFs with pdflatex.
