Hi everyone, my name is Kevin. Today Im going to show you how you can create pivot tables in Microsoft Excel to do some pretty amazing analysis and as full disclosure before we jump into this, I work at Microsoft. All right, well what are we waiting for? Lets jump into it. Here I am on my desktop Im going to open up Microsoft Excel. The version that Im using this is the latest version of Excel, but if you have Excel 2019, 2016, 2013, you name the version, you should be able to follow along with this tutorial. So what I wanted to do is I wanted to come up with a fun example and so today Im going to pretend that Im a used car dealer so I have a spreadsheet called car inventory. Im going to go ahead and open that, and one thing I want to do is first kind of help orient you to the data that I have in this spreadsheet. A quote is not even a valid URL character, so I think long-term you should address this. It is specifically excluded from the URI syntax by RFC 2396. To solve the immediate problem though, youll need to escape the character, using %22 .
apos; for (known as single quote or apostrophe, Unicode character U+0027)You could use HTML entities: #39; for #34; for
Alternatively, you can use a backslash \ to escape the quotation marks.
Single quotes need to be escaped by backslash in single-quoted strings, and double quotes in double-quoted strings.
Right Double Quotation Mark UNICODE. U+0201D. HEX CODE. #x201D; HTML CODE. #8221; HTML ENTITY. rdquo; CSS CODE. \201D. #8221; content: \201D;
Do I need to encode the double quotation mark character in the URL path? Yes, the quotation mark character (U+0022) is not allowed in plain and must be encoded with %22 .
To print quotes, using escape characters we have two options: For single quotes: \ (backslash followed by single quote) For double quotes: \ (backslash followed by double quotes)
You can put a backslash character followed by a quote ( \ or \ ). This is called an escape sequence and Python will remove the backslash, and put just the quote in the string.
Any unsafe or unprintable characters (such as single or double quotation marks, equal signs, or ampersands) are replaced with a percent sign (%), followed by the hexidecimal digits that correspond to the characters value. For example, the string Assigned To would be encoded as*%22Assigned+To%22*.
To place quotation marks in a string in your code In Visual C# and Visual C++, insert the escape sequence \ as an embedded quotation mark.
