What is Labcorp Web COC (chain of custody)? Labcorp Web COC is an innovative drug testing specimen collection tool that guides the collector through each step of the collection process to produce a federally regulated or non-federally-regulated chain of custody form on-site.
Collector completes Collector chain of custody in STEP 4 on Copy 1 (signature, printed name, date, time of collection, and name of delivery service) and places the sealed specimen bottle(s) in a leak-proof plastic bag.
Specimen ID Unique number sequence assigned to a specimen at the collection site for a drug, alcohol or Titers test. The Specimen ID is essential for quality control, namely tracking movement of the specimen.
Chain of custody is the term used to describe the procedures to account for the integrity of each specimen and aliquot (i.e., portion of a specimen used for testing) by tracking handling and storage from the point of specimen collection to final disposition of the specimen and its aliquots.
