hello this is kevin from surfing the ether and i just want to say that this is my first ever screencast so please be gentle but what im going to show you today is how to join text data in two separate columns and then join them up to create a third separate column so this is a handy trick that you can use in Excel so Im gonna start off by tapping in the column heading which will be full name and in order to join the first names and last names you use a very simple formula and Im going to type it in so equals Im going to click on a2 which is our first name and now go Im going to use a character called an ampersand so if you look on your keyboard you press shift and you press the number 7 and there is the ampersand and then you click on b2 and press Enter hooray so you see that weve joined our first name and last name but theres a slight problem theres no space in between the first name and last name so what we have to do is to tweak our formula just a little bit and add the spa

An AMI includes the following: One or more Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS) snapshots, or, for instance-store-backed AMIs, a template for the root volume of the instance (for example, an operating system, an application server, and applications).
Cause: You might have just created your AMI (by taking a snapshot of a running instance or any other way), and it might not be available yet. Solution: You must wait for your AMI to be available and then create your launch template or launch configuration.
From the Amazon EC2 Instances view, you can create Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) from either running or stopped instances. Right-click the instance you want to use as the basis for your AMI, and choose Create Image from the context menu.
There is no cost to make an AMI itself, but if youre making it from a running instance you will pay the fees for running a micro instance (which is about $0.02/hr, depending on availability region - see the pricing details) and also fees for using the EBS root for however long you use it.
If you need to manually join an EC2 instance to your domain, you must launch the instance in the proper Region and security group or subnet, then join the instance to the domain. To be able to connect remotely to these instances, you must have IP connectivity to the instances from the network you are connecting from.
The most common cause for slow creation of AMIs or snapshots is the amount of dirty data that must be copied to Amazon S3. This dirty data is measured by the number of blocks. The following factors might result in a large number of dirty blocks: Size of the EBS volume.
Create an AMI from an Amazon EC2 Instance Right-click the instance you want to use as the basis for your AMI, and choose Create Image from the context menu. Create Image context menu. In the Create Image dialog box, type a unique name and description, and then choose Create Image.
Depending on the size of the volumes, it can take several minutes for the AMI-creation process to complete (sometimes up to 24 hours). You may find it more efficient to create snapshots of your volumes prior to creating your AMI.
