often times when youamp;#39;re writing especially with a dialogue line itamp;#39;s not easy to judge how this line will sound if someone says it out loud thatamp;#39;s why final draft 11 includes a so-called narrator the narrator as the name suggests can read your script back so you can get a better feel for it of course this is not a substitute for a real actor saying those lines or a table reading but still itamp;#39;s a nice addition to only seeing the written text before you can really use the narrator you need to assign the voices you want to do that go to tools assign voices you can choose which of your characters will be read by man 1 2 etc via preview you can test what the voices sound like in the narrator tab you define which elements are read by a narrator voice in the actors tab you can assign voices for men 1 2 woman 1 2 etc and also play with the pitch and the speed settings until youamp;#39;re satisfied once youamp;#39;re done click ok and then choose tools speech c

Numbering a scene when adding a new scene between two existing scenes. Add a letter to your scene! If you want to insert a new scene between scenes 10 and 11, that scene should be scene 10B. If you need yet another scene after scene 10 B, that will be scene 10 C and so forth.
To number a new scene in a script in which scenes are already numbered Choose Production Scene Numbers; Check Add Numbers; Be sure that Keep existing numbers is checked. If it is not checked, all currently-numbered scenes will be renumbered; Click OK.
Insert Shots An insert starts with what a character might be reading or seeing. (i.e. INSERT - NEWSPAPER HEADLINE). Followed by what the headline says enclosed in quotes ( ITS THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT!). Conclude with BACK TO SCENE.
Go to Document Mores and Continueds and click on the Set Font button at the bottom of the window; In the Font box at the upper left, select the font you want and click OK.
A Scene Heading includes all of the important information for the scene that follows, allowing the users reading it to easily understand and visualize the where and when details of the scene. It will always include the following information - INT./EXT. LOCATION - TIME OF DAY and will be written in all caps.
A script written in another screenwriting program or a regular word processing program can be exported as a PDF (FD13 / 12 only) or a plain or rich text file (for FD11 and older), then imported into Final Draft. Final Draft will reformat the file as a feature screenplay.
The right way: Go to Format Elements (Mac) or Elements Settings (Windows); Choose Scene Heading from the list on the left; Click the Font tab in the middle; Click Set Font; Click the Underline box; OK your way back to the script.
Scene Headings A scene heading contains three elements: Whether the scene takes place inside (INT., short for INTERIOR) or outside (EXT., short for EXTERIOR); The location where the scene takes place (a house, the beach, a cafe etc.); What time of day it is (DAY, NIGHT, MORNING, AFTERNOON, EVENING, ETC.)
