Right-click the cell and then click Insert Comment (or press Shift+F2). If youre using Excel for Office 365, right-click the cell and choose New Note. Type your annotation text. Click outside the cell.
Pro Tip: You can use the keyboard shortcut ALT + N + U to open the symbol dialog box. Here are a couple of extra things you should know: The Symbol dialog box also has a Special Characters tab that lists some of the Special Characters (such as Trademark, Copyright, or Em-dash).
Insert a link to a file Click inside the cell of the spreadsheet where you want to insert the object. On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click Object . Click the Create from File tab. Click Browse, and then select the file you want to link. Select the Link to file check box, and click OK.
In Excel, navigate to Data Import External Data Import Data/Import From Text and choose 65001 Unicode (UTF-8). Save your settings then re-open your file to confirm that special characters are displayed correctly.
You can open the Symbol dialog by following INSERT Symbols Symbol path in the Ribbon. In the Symbol dialog, choose Greek and Coptic in Subset dropdown and scroll down to find the Greek Letters. Select the letter you need and click the Insert button. Alternatively, you can use the character code.
To insert a character between text in Excel, leverage built-in functions such as CONCATENATE, CONCAT, and the ampersand () operator. For example, to add a space after the nth character, use the formula =LEFT(A2, n) RIGHT(A2, LEN(A2) - n) where n is the nth character position.
A special character like em dashes or section marks () Click or tap where you want to insert the special character. Go to Insert Symbol More Symbols. Go to Special Characters. Double-click the character that you want to insert.
The lowercase can be made in Microsoft Windows by doing Alt + 164 or Alt + 0241 on the numeric keypad (with Num Lock turned on) The uppercase can be made with Alt + 165 or Alt + 0209.
