Inserting an image To insert an image, use the image tag and specify the placement attribute to set line wrapping. You can also choose placement=inline if youre inserting an image in the line of your sentence (such as a button image) or if you want text to flow around your image.
HTML Images Syntax The HTML tag is used to embed an image in a web page. Images are not technically inserted into a web page; images are linked to web pages. The tag creates a holding space for the referenced image. The tag is empty, it contains attributes only, and does not have a closing tag.
Use the element to include artwork or images in a DITA topic. The element has an optional @placement attribute that indicates whether the included graphic or artwork is rendered inline (a button or icon) or on a separate line for a larger image.
The tag is used to incorporate in-line graphics (typically icons or small graphics) into an HTML document. This element is NOT intended for embedding other HTML text. For large figures with captions and text flow see FIG element. Example:
Tags let you identify different versions of the same series of images. Digests are a unique identifier for a specific version of an image. Digests are hashes of the images content, and are immutable. Tags can be moved to point to different images, but digests are fixed.
