typically in illustrator we have our text and our box as separate objects but nope however there is a way to make this box automatically resize to fit the text so remove the box and set the text fill color to none and then open up the appearance panel and weamp;#39;re going to add two new fills one for the text and one for the box so letamp;#39;s give the bottom one a color and this is going to be the color for the box and from the effects icon at the bottom weamp;#39;re going to convert this fill to a shape and suddenly you can see that box become visible and we can adjust the padding on the left and right side and the top and bottom as well now we can see itamp;#39;s looking good letamp;#39;s change that text fill color to white and then just check it works it does fantastic and this works on multiple lines as well anyway back to a single line we can also add a transform effect to the white fill and this enables us to move the text vertically just so we can align everything cent
