Are there a right way and a wrong way to wear a name badge? Most people wear their visitor badges on their left (near their heart). Thats because most people (about 90 percent of us) are right-handed, so its easier to put our visitor badges on our left side.
Badges show people who you are or what youve accomplished in a group. If you have a badge and allow it to be displayed, it will appear on your group posts, comments and profile for the group. Here are some of the badges you can get in groups: Badge name.
When we greet someone we look at their face first, but if we then have no reason to look left to seek out their right hand, our glance goes straight from their face to the center right of their chest (their left side). A name tag should preferably be worn on the right-hand side (from the wearers perspective).
If you cant use lanyards, badge reels are the next most popular option. Most badge reels give you the option of a swivel clip or a belt clip to attach the reel to your clothing. A metal swivel clip may damage delicate fabrics, but the belt clips just slip onto your pocket.
Retractable Reels: Bulldog Clip These are ideal for placing the badge and reel in the chest area. The reel can be clipped to the shirt collar or pocket, or even to a pinched section of a shirt. Belt Clip The belt clip option allows the reel to be affixed to a belt or pant waistline.
Proper etiquette suggests that all name tags be worn on the right side of the body. However, other badges and items like lapel pins are to be worn on the left side of the body. Lapel pins are designed to wear on the left, near the heart. Wearing a lapel pin is a sign of respect and dignity.
