welcome back in this video weamp;#39;ll talk about pap smear and hpv vaccine hpv vaccine is recommended to be started at the age of 11 years old for both males and females and this is protective against papilloma which is pre-cancerous however the risk for females is far more common and risky as the chance of cervical papilloma increase exponentially every year so for females in addition to having hpv vaccine they also have to get pap smear which is a screening for hpv regularly so they get a pap smear once every three years starting at the age of 21 till the age of 30. so three consecutive pap smears after finishing these three pap smears or getting the edge of 30. switch to doing pap smear plus hpv blood tests once every 5 years so to put it simply before the age of 30 pap smear every 3 years after the age of 30 pap smear plus blood test every 5 years and hereamp;#39;s a small quiz alright guys thatamp;#39;s all i have thank you so much for watching and hopefully this helps [Music

All cervical screening participants now have the choice to self-collect their own Cervical Screening Test sample. A self-collected sample is taken from the vagina and is checked for human papillomavirus (HPV) a common infection that causes almost all cervical cancers.
Abnormal Pap test results could mean there are changes in the cells on your cervix, including: Inflammation (irritation). This can be caused by an infection of the cervix. These include yeast infections, HPV, the herpes virus, or many other infections.
During a Pap test, a tool called a speculum holds the vaginal walls apart. A sample of cells from the cervix is collected using a soft brush and a flat scraping device called a spatula (1 and 2). The cells are placed in a bottle that contains a solution to preserve them (3).
Your healthcare provider will insert an instrument called a speculum into your vagina. This will spread the walls of the vagina apart to show the cervix. Your healthcare provider will use a small brush, swab or spatula to gently remove cells from the cervix and back of the vagina.
What Causes An Abnormal Pap test? The presence of an infection such as yeast, bacterial vaginosis, trichomonas, chlamydia or gonorrhea may cause cervical cells to appear inflamed, resulting in the finding described as benign cellular or reactive changes. Treatment will be prescribed if necessary.
Inflammation of the cervix is common and usually does not mean there is a problem. If the Pap smear showed that the inflammation is severe, your doctor may want to find the cause, such as an infection. You may also need to have another Pap smear in six months to see if the inflammation has gone.
Anyone eligible for a Cervical Screening Test has the choice to screen either through: self-collection of a vaginal sample using a simple swab (unless a co-test is required) clinician-collection of a sample from the cervix using a speculum.
Obscuring factors (blood, inflammation) A specimen is considered partially obscured when 50 to 75 percent of the epithelial cells cannot be visualized [2]; a partially obscured specimen can still be satisfactory for evaluation.
