To define a trait in PHP, use the trait keyword followed by the trait name and curly braces {} enclosing the traits methods. Traits can contain method declarations but not properties.
Unlike traits in Scala, traits in PHP can have a constructor but it must be declared public (an error will be thrown if is private or protected). Anyway, be cautious when using constructors in traits, though, because it may lead to unintended collisions in the composing classes.
PHP programming language doesnt even support the multiple inheritance/inheritances. PHP supports multiple inheritances only by using interfaces or Traits in PHP instead of classes so that we can implement it. Traits are a type of class that enables multiple case classes, objects, classes, and traits.
The caveat is that traits use d in an enum must not contain properties. They may only include methods and static methods. A trait with properties will result in a fatal error.
To use a trait in a class, you use the use keyword. All the traits methods are available in the class where it is used. Calling a method of a trait is similar to calling an instance method. Both BankAccount and User classes reuse methods of the Logger trait, which is very flexible.
Unlike a class, whats important to remember, is that you cannot add extends or implements to a trait. You cant instantiate a trait, either. Their sole purpose is to support our classes, and not to replace them. Traits can have methods, just like classes do.
In PHP, it is possible to use multiple traits in a single class using the use keyword followed by the names of the traits separated by commas. This allows a class to reuse code from multiple traits, providing more flexibility and reducing code duplication.
