this is the new m2 macbook air but right out of the box its a little bland so here are the 14 things i did to get it from looking like this to looking like this which is not only prettier but is also much easier to use and seriously boosts my productivity okay so the very first thing that i did was to put the display on more space i just feel like everything is unnecessarily large in the default setting so i really recommend trying out the more space if you can still see everything comfortably on your screen it just lets you display more things at once which will give you more context on whatever youre reading or looking at and that really helps me be able to scrub through things more quickly it also helps with multitasking so i usually have many windows open at once on my screen but the mac os default windows split screen kinda sucks having to press and hold on the little green button just takes way too long and you also have to do this whole dance when you want to open up somethin

To view these settings, choose Apple menu System Settings, then click Internet Accounts in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.) Click an account to view and change the features and settings that are set up on your Mac for that account.
On your Mac, use Apple ID Name, Phone, Email settings to change the name, phone, and email information associated with your Apple ID. To change these settings, choose Apple menu System Settings, click [your name] at the top of the sidebar, then click Name, Phone, Email on the right.
Sign out of your Apple ID On your Mac, choose Apple menu System Settings, then click [your name] at the top of the sidebar. Open Apple ID settings for me. Click Sign Out. Follow the onscreen instructions for copying and downloading your data stored in iCloud.
Turn on your Mac and immediately press and hold these four keys together: Option, Command, P, R. Release the keys after about 20 seconds. This clears user settings from memory and restores certain security features that might have been altered.
After you sign in with your Apple ID, you can use Apple ID settings to change your account name, photo, contact information, password and security settings, payment and shipping information, and more. On your Mac, choose Apple menu System Settings, then click [your name] at the top of the sidebar.
Use Erase All Content and Settings From the Apple menu  in the corner of your screen, choose System Settings. Click General in the sidebar. Click Transfer or Reset on the right. Click Erase All Content and Settings. Dont see this button?
You cant change the name of an account while logged into the account youre changing. So you will also need to log in to a different (administrator) account to do this you may need to create that first.
Use iCloud Drive Not only will iCloud Drive help you keep your files organized into folders, but it will also sync them across multiple devices. So, if youre someone who uses a personal and a work Mac, or even just a desktop and an iPad, iCloud Drive is how your files will automatically be on every device.
On your Mac, use the Advanced pane in Privacy Security settings to adjust the security settings of your Mac. To change these settings, choose Apple menu System settings, click Privacy Security in the sidebar, then click Advanced on the right. (You may need to scroll down.)
If you want to change the name thats shown in your messages, or create an email alias, click the Email Address pop-up menu, then choose Edit Email Addresses. If you already use aliases, theyre listed in the Email Address pop-up menu. They also appear in the From pop-up menu when you write a new message.
