all right everybody welcome back so this is the second video on law Tech and last video we talked about basic syntax how to have a document class how to begin and end your document titling how to do bold and sections and stuff like that in this video were going to talk about lists and then were going to talk about labels and references so lets get it started with lists in fact Im going to make a section heading Im going to call it lists great and of course you probably remember how to compile PDF law tech and then the name of your document - law tech - right now okay so lets get this underway so lists are pretty easy to do in fact theres an environment for it what you do is you say begin enumerate and in enumerate and enumerate is an environment for numbered lists and in order to make elements in that list you do slash item so lets say I dont know its a shopping list or something so we have bread maybe we have butter I dont know what else do you need toilet paper stuff like

\label{marker} The marker can be seen as a name that we give to the object that we want to reference. Its important to add \label after a numbered element e.g. \section , \subsection , \caption etc, otherwise the label wont latch on to the correct number or counter. \ref{marker}
The argument to the \label command is just a text string that youll use to reference that part. We add a reference to it using the \ref{} command, which just takes that same text string as an argument, e.g. We can define labels in LaTeX, as we see in section \ref{refsection}, and use these for cross-referencing.
\label{marker} Used to give the object you want to reference a marker a name which can be used to refer to that object later. \ref{marker} Used to reference an object with the specified marker.
Its important to add \label after a numbered element e.g. \section , \subsection , \caption etc, otherwise the label wont latch on to the correct number or counter. This prints the number assigned to the object labeled by marker. This prints the number of the page where the object labeled by marker appears.
In LaTeX you can easily reference a section by using \label{} next to a section and then \ref{} to create the reference. However, the reference only includes the number of the section, or the page with \pageref{} .
The label is set after the \section statement, i.e. the \label command should be added after the counter number for the section has been generated. This also works on chapters, subsections and subsubsections. See Sections and chapters.
The \label should come after the \caption or even inside the \caption environment. If you put the \label before the \caption you will get a reference to the (sub)section where float is declared instead of a reference to the float itself.
Section labels are generated using the \label command and can then be referenced using \ref . \section{Example Section} \label{sec:example-section} \ref{sec:example-section} is an example of \texttt{section}.
