hi this is Doug a bird from carlson software and today were going to talk about custom attributes I talked about custom attributes in this lesson what Im talking about is the ones you see and feel the finish that you may or may have not paid any attention to so if I open up field to finish and take a look at a code table any code table you will see a typical setup in this case its an FES which stands for a flared end section youve selected a symbol called FES which just brings in that little trapezoid shaped symbol so what do I want to focus on is this button right here it says custom attributes and if youve ever bought to click on that you will see this category and what were going to do basically the way this works is we going to create a block another block a minute the can have or not have a symbol associated with it but what well have is attributes set in that block each one will have a tag and whats that tag on that attribute they will then be able to assign values for it

Under Attribute Category, select LDT Attributes from the drop-down list. Under Attribute Names, click the attribute you want to add to the title block. Under format, change the Style, Justify, and Text Height boxes as desired. Click Place.
Click the Sheets tab, and click (Sheet Set View) in the title bar. Select the sheet that contains the sheet view you want to number, and expand it. Select the sheet view, right-click, and click Rename and Renumber. Enter a number for the sheet view.
To automate your title block data, you must replace the existing data with field codes. You can insert field codes using the Field dialog box that is accessible in most text and attribute editing tools. Launch AutoCAD. Click the View panel at the top of the window. Click the Sheet Set Manager button in the Palettes section of the ribbon at the top of the window. Click the drop-down menu at the top of the Sheet Set panel, then click New Sheet Set. Click An Example Sheet Set, then click Next.
Double-click the title block to edit. In the Change Title Block Entry dialog box, edit the settings. Click OK.
In the Block Attribute Manager, select a block from the Block list, or click Select Block and select a block in the drawing area. In the list of attributes, double-click the attribute you want to edit, or select the attribute and click Edit.
Open a title block for editing, using one of the following methods: Open a project that contains sheets that use the title block (or a project into which you have loaded the title block). In the Project Browser, expand Families Annotation Symbols. Right-click the name of the title block to modify, and click Edit.
