There are two ways to convert the document to PDF: Click the print icon on your word processor toolbar or, alternatively Click File on the drop down menu bar and select the Print option. PDF selection that displays from your list of available printers. Click the Print button in the dialog box.
Click in your Word document wherever you wish to insert a Form Field. On the Legacy Forms menu click the first icon to insert a Form Field. Right-click on the Form Field and select Properties. Then provide a name for the field in the Bookmark section.

To save a WordPerfect document as a Microsoft Word document Click File Save as. Choose the drive and folder where you want to save the file. Type the filename in the File name box. Choose an MS Word format from the File type list box.

Microsoft Word, as well as free office suites like OpenOffice and LibreOffice, can open and convert WordPerfect (WPD) files. Some online converters offer batch conversions if you need to convert more than one document.
With all that said, Im very happy to hear that WordPerfect is still around. Its not often that you hear about apps that have been around for 40-plus years, especially ones that arent the top dog in their category.
