Resolution Open the PDF document in docHub. Select the Prepare Form tool. Select the form field(s) to unlock. Open the form field properties window. Uncheck Locked checkbox in bottom-left corner. Uncheck Read Only checkbox. Re-check Locked checkbox and select Close
If you cant type into a form field on a pdf, it may be due to a browsers default viewer for pdfs. Fillable forms require docHub or Acrobat Reader/Acrobat DC to fill them out online or on your computer. Many browsers use a different pdf viewer by default that doesnt support fillable form fields.
How to create fillable PDF files: Open Acrobat: Click on the Tools tab and select Prepare Form. Select a file or scan a document: Acrobat will automatically analyze your document and add form fields. Add new form fields: Use the top toolbar and adjust the layout using tools in the right pane. Save your fillable PDF:
Navigate to the Tools panel and select Protect. Choose Restrict Editing and enter the permissions password if prompted. In the security settings, change the restriction to allow filling of form fields. Save the document with the new settings.
Make sure that the security settings allow form filling. (See File Properties Security.) Make sure that the PDF includes interactive, or fillable, form fields. Sometimes form creators forget to convert their PDFs to interactive forms, or they intentionally design a form you can only fill in by hand.
With the Fill Sign tool, you can easily fill out PDF forms, sign them, and send your forms electronically right from your desktop, browser, or mobile app.
Enable the Auto-Complete option From the hamburger menu, select Preferences (Windows), or select Acrobat / Acrobat Reader Preferences (macOS). In the Preferences dialog, select Forms as the preference category. Under Auto-Complete, choose Basic or Advanced from the menu.
