hello everyone this video is about formatting block quotations as a reminder a block quote is any quote that is four lines long or longer in the case of my example here I have a pretty sizable quote instead of being formatted like a 1 to 3 line quotation we want to actually offset from the rest of the paragraph so the first thing I want to do is omit I come to the very beginning Iamp;#39;m going to hit enter and then when I come to the very edge of the quote and Iamp;#39;m going to hit enter again now itamp;#39;s still not quite right because now itamp;#39;s three paragraphs instead of one paragraph with a block quotation so the first thing Iamp;#39;m going to do is Iamp;#39;m going to take this quote and Iamp;#39;m going to make sure itamp;#39;s flush against the margin and Iamp;#39;m going to highlight the whole quote so that I can hit tab so that the whole thing is flush against the 1/2 inch margin now because this signals to the reader that this is a block quote when itam

A quote should include: Your business name and address. The customers name and address. A unique quote number. The quote issue date. The quote expiry date. The description and prices of the products/services. The total amount of the sale.
Highlight the text you want to quote. Click on the Format menu. Choose Paragraph styles and then Quote.
A typical RFQ contains: General and technical specifications for the product or service. Last date for accepting RFQ responses. Estimated dates for the final product or service delivery. Proposed contract duration with the vendor. Other terms and conditions that need to be accepted by the vendor.
Use double quotation marks () around a direct quote. A direct quote is a word- for-word report of what someone else said or wrote. You use the exact words and punctuation of the original. Harriet Jacobs writes, She sat down, quivering in every limb (61).
Words can be added or changed to a quote by using brackets. Changes can be used to correct tense or to add necessary information. Brackets can also be used to make the pronouns in a quote consistent. However, brackets should not be used to change the meaning of the quote.
Your quote should include the following necessary information: Your business name and contact information. The word quote so its clear what the document is about. A unique quote number. Your clients information. Issue date. List of products and services with pricing. Your terms and conditions. Additional notes or details.
Start the quotation on a new line, with the entire quote indented 1/2 inch from the left margin while maintaining double-spacing. Your parenthetical citation should come after the closing punctuation mark. When quoting verse, maintain original line breaks.
An exact quote should be in quotation marks ( ), or if the quotation is 40 words or more, should be formatted as a block quotation. Then you put an In-Text Citation right after the quotation to show where the quote came from.
