Scroll through the patterns or use the Filter option at the bottom of the panel to narrow your search for the pattern fill you want. Select a pattern thumbnail to apply the pattern fill to your layer. Any time you select a new pattern, the pattern will be applied to your layer on the Canvas.
Click a pattern tool (Features toolbar) or Insert Pattern/Mirror and select a pattern tool (linear, circular, or curve driven pattern). You can also use a pattern you created using X-Y coordinates (table pattern) or sketch points.
If you establish a pattern by typing the full name in column C, Excels Flash Fill feature will fill in the rest for you based on the pattern you provide. Enter the full name in cell C2, and press ENTER. Go to Data Flash Fill, or press Ctrl+E. Excel will sense the pattern you provided in C2, and fill the cells below.
To define a new Fill Pattern, you can open a Fill Pattern dialog through the Material Browser. The same dialog box can also be opened from the Manage tab, Additional Settings drop-down, Fill Patterns. Fill patterns are defined as either Drafting patterns or Model patterns.
If you use a sketch for the boundary, you may need to select the pattern direction. To create a fill pattern, click Fill Pattern (Features toolbar) or Insert Pattern/Mirror Fill Pattern, set the PropertyManager options, and click . Parameters control the pattern layout.
To add an area hatch or solid fill: In a drawing document, select a model face, a segment of a closed sketch profile, or a region bounded by a combination of model edges and sketch entities. You can make multiple selections. Click Area Hatch/Fill (Annotation toolbar), or click Insert Annotations Area Hatch/Fill.
To create a filled surface, click Filled Surface on the Surfaces toolbar, or click Insert Surface Fill, set the PropertyManager options, and click OK .
You can pattern features across planar and nonplanar surfaces and vary the dimensions and references for each pattern instance. The cosmetic pattern feature allows you to cosmetically define and display patterns of holes instead of showing fully-tessellated solid models.
