How much does FINRA expungement cost?

The filing fee for an expungement petition is $75. Other costs associated with this method of filing will include photocopying documents, mailing the documents using certified mail, and the purchase of stamps and envelopes. The total cost would be about $200.

What is the 2 year rule for FINRA?

If your registration remains CE inactive for two years, it will be administratively terminated (CE Two Year Termed), and you will be required to re-qualify for your registration by examination. If you are currently registered with a firm and are unsure of your CE requirements, you should contact your firm.

Can FINRA see expunged records?

FINRA conducts thorough background checks that cover criminal records, civil judgments, liens, bankruptcies, and business records. However, expunged criminal cases do not appear in these background checks.

What is a FINRA expungement?

Associated persons may seek to remove, or expunge, customer dispute information from CRD/BrokerCheck. FINRA Rules 12805 and 13805 specify a narrow set of circumstances in which expungement of customer dispute information from CRD is appropriate.

Remember, while many felonies might be eligible, certain serious crimes, like murder, sexual battery, and child abuse, cannot be expunged.
