The Minnesota Clean Slate Act of 2023 will automate expungements for offenses that already qualify for expungements under the current petition process. The legislation, authored by Rep. Jamie Long and Sen.
Do I have to pay to seal my criminal record? If you apply through the Minnesota Attorney Generals Office and you qualify for expungement you do not have to pay the $300 filing fee to the Court.

The expungement process typically takes at least 4-6 months. This is because the hearing to consider your request must take place at least 63 days after you serve your forms on the government agencies.
