Restore the AMI from an EBS snapshot When you delete or deregister an Amazon EBS-backed AMI, any snapshots created for the volume of the instance during the AMI creation process are retained. If you accidentally delete the AMI, then you can launch an identical AMI using one of the retained snapshots.
Deletes an Image Builder image resource. This does not delete any EC2 AMIs or ECR container images that are created during the image build process. You must clean those up separately, using the appropriate Amazon EC2 or Amazon ECR console actions, or API or AWS CLI commands.
To delete a Docker image, use the docker rmi command and pass the ID of the image you want to remove. The syntax is provided as shown. To get the Docker image ID, list the existing ones using the docker images command. If there are no images on your system, the command will only display the column headers.
Delete Photos and Videos Permanently Using a Web Browser Open Amazon Photos. Select the Trash icon. Choose all photos and videos you want to permanently delete. Select Permanently Delete on the top of the screen. Note: Permanently deleted photos cannot be recovered from Amazon Photos. Confirm by selecting Delete.
To delete an image (AWS CLI) List the images in your repository. (Optional) Delete any unwanted tags for the image by specifying the tag associated with the image you want to delete. Delete a tagged or untagged image by specifying the image digest.
Resolution Open the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) console, and then select AMIs. From the dropdown list, select Owned by me. Choose the gear symbol in the upper-right corner. Turn on the Product code option, and then select Confirm. Select the AMIs that you no longer need. Select Actions, Deregister AMI.
Go to the AWS EC2 console and AMI section. Select the desired AMI. Next, select the Deregister option in the Actions tab. Select the Continue option to deregister.
Resolution Note the AMI ID in the error message. Open the Amazon EC2 console, and from the navigation pane, choose AMIs. Choose the AMI that you noted in the error message, open the Actions menu, and then choose Deregister AMI. Use the EC2 console or the AWS CLI to delete the EBS snapshot.
