[Music] hi everyone my name is melissa in this video i want to take a closer look at the enter data option in power bi and how to use it and by far most cases will bring in data by connecting to a data source now that wont change of course but power bi also offers ways to manually create tables one of which is using the enter data option that you can find in the data section on the home tab there are three common use cases i want to discuss with you the first is creating tables for measures now there are many different ways to organize a model a common practice is to create one or more separate tables to store measures you can use the enter data option to create an empty table all we have to do is assign it a name ill call that key measures we can create a measure so ill right click that table select new measure create a quick measure and now we can hide column one select hide youll notice that the icon in front of the table name has changed indicating it is now a dedicated measure
