Syntax. An XML comment should be written as:
Commenting out an entire XML block using CTRL+ / comments each line separately instead of creating a block comment. Select the entire block of xml and hit CTRL+/ to comment the entire block.
Ctrl + Alt + Shift + C comment selection. Ctrl + Alt + Shift + R uncomment selection.
If you want to comment out a single line in the XML code, insert your cursor at the beginning of a line you want to comment out. Type a less-than symbol followed by an exclamation point and two dashes. Move your cursor to the end of the line and then type two dashes followed by a greater-than symbol.
XML Naming Rules Element names are case-sensitive. Element names must start with a letter or underscore. Element names cannot start with the letters xml (or XML, or Xml, etc) Element names can contain letters, digits, hyphens, underscores, and periods. Element names cannot contain spaces.
No, this isnt possible. Comments are not allowed in an XML open tag. See How do I comment attributes inside an XML tag? Save this answer.
XML comments are similar to HTML comments. The comments are added as notes or lines for understanding the purpose of an XML code. Comments can be used to include related links, information, and terms. They are visible only in the source code; not in the XML code. Comments may appear anywhere in XML code.
If you are looking to add some comments to your attributes, place your comment above target node. !-- -- is a valid way to put comments inside an xml file, but it should be placed as a xml node, not a node attribute (inside another node tag).
