Turn off Scroll Lock If your keyboard does not have a Scroll Lock key, on your computer, click Start > Settings > Ease of Access > Keyboard. Click the On Screen Keyboard button to turn it on. When the on-screen keyboard appears on your screen, click the ScrLk button.
The keys F1-F12 at the top row of the keyboard are function keys for multi-media control, as indicated by the icon at the bottom of the key. Press the function key to invoke the task represented by the icon. For example, pressing F1 mutes the audio (refer to the table below).
Press the 'FN' select key and ESC and it switches the function keys to behave as function keys.
From the external keyboard, locate the scroll lock key on the right side of the keyboard just above the arrow keys. After this, press and hold the key to be exact for about 5 seconds, which should turn off the scroll lock feature on your Dell laptop.
In most cases, you'll need to press and hold the Fn key and then press the relevant function key to bring your cursor back to life.
Turn off the scroll lock on Windows computers One of the most common reasons you may not use the arrow keys is you've turned on the scroll lock. Look for the scroll lock button on your keyboard to see if you've enabled it. The button usually lights up. Press this button to disable it.
Scroll Lock is a toggling lock key on the keyboard, just like the CAPS LOCK key. Once pressed, Scroll Lock is enabled. To turn it off, simply press the Scroll Lock key again.
Some common methods are: Fn + S or Fn + F6 on certain Dell laptops. Fn + C or Fn + K on certain Lenovo laptops. Fn + C on certain HP laptops.
On some Dell laptops, you can use the Fn + S shortcut to toggle Scroll Lock on and off.
