Intrinsic Stains They can happen for a number of reasons, including health conditions, medications, and trauma to the tooth. These stains are a little tougher to treat, but you may be able to remove them at home using a product with an active whitening ingredient like hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide.
You may be thinking that those brown stains on the bottom of the toilet bowl are feces but more often than not the brown stains are from water that has too many minerals (iron, magnesium, calcium, etc). Otherwise known as hard water stains which are less gross than the alternative but still an ugly sight to see.
Most commonly, amyloid can be identified with the Congo red stain as an apple-green birefringence when viewed under polarized microscopic light. Additionally, other stains may be used to identify amyloid such as crystal violet or thioflavin T.
For deeply penetrating wood stains that are clinging to the wood, bleach can be an effective removal option.
Remove wood stain with bleach To bleach out a dye stain from raw wood, apply a chlorine bleach solution. This should remove most dye-based stains but will not lighten the wood itself. If you are undertaking a refinishing project then Chlorine bleach will also remove old dye but lightly scuff-sand it first.
Sponge the stained area with a dry-cleaning solvent; let it air-dry. Soak the stain in a solution of one cup of liquid laundry detergent and a few drops of ammonia (Caution: Never mix chlorine bleach and ammonia - the resulting fumes are hazardous) for at least 30 minutes. Launder using liquid laundry detergent.

For general clothing stains, rinse the item in warm water and put in the washing machine as usual. Laundry detergent, dish soap, and stain removers all work well to get rid of lesser stains. For tougher marks, you may need to soak garments in a mixture of water and oxygen bleach for several hours or overnight.
