Font embedding is the inclusion of font files inside an electronic document. Font embedding is controversial because it allows licensed fonts to be freely distributed.
If you want to remove the embedding, you can turn off the Embed setting in the File Options dialog box (described above) and save the file. Then, once you close and re-open the file, a different font is substituted for the font that had been embedded previously.
Embed fonts in a document or presentation Open the file you want to embed fonts in. On the application (PowerPoint or Word) menu, select Preferences. In the dialog box, under Output and Sharing, select Save. Under Font Embedding, select Embed fonts in the file.
How to embed fonts in InDesign EPS If you have not already, open your InDesign file. Select File then Export. Select where you want your file to be exported, then under Format, select EPS and hit Save. Similar to the process you followed for a PDF file, you can choose to embed all of your fonts or just a subset.
What happens when embedding fonts? Basically, embedding fonts ensures that all the font information used for your document is stored in the PDF file. So the font is locally available on the print shops computer for the time that the document is opened.
On the PowerPoint application menu, click Preferences. Under Output and Sharing, click Save. Under Font Embedding, clear the Embed fonts in the file check box. Save the file, then close and re-open it.
Click File Info Manage Embedded Fonts. Under License Restrictions and Embed Font, check the font license details. If the license restriction says May embed, the font can be embedded. If the license restriction says Preview-only or May not embed, consider changing this font in your publication.
Go to Document Properties from the hamburger menu (Windows) or the File menu (macOS). Then, select the Fonts tab in the Document Properties dialog box. For an embedded font, try changing the point where its embedded rather than sending it inside the PostScript file.
