etching stone is fairly simple and is probably one of the funnest projects that ive done in a while it isnt hard the laser doesnt really burn stone what it does is it crystallizes it it breaks up the surface and makes it almost a whitish color so its an easy one to do but it doesnt go very deep you cant get a very deep cut with the lasers so heres were going to start off with the design and then well go through the rest of the process as you can see here on the oregon cities i wanted to do some fancy fence art so what i decided to do is make some tiles and originally i started out with a hexagon but that turned out not to be as good as i want so i switched over to a rectangular stone that im going to have to cut into three pieces so what i did is i moved over my art and pushed it into the stone and i made a break line that you can see over here and this is going to etch a groove in to the stone which i hope and will help facilitate the breakage so for the actual brake line wh
