The keyboard key used to delete the text character at, or to the right of, the screen cursor. Pressing Delete (DEL) also deletes the currently highlighted text, image or group of images. The Delete key removes characters to the right of the cursor, whereas the Backspace key deletes to the left. See Backspace key.

To remove hidden links, select all text (Ctrl+A or Cmd+A), then press Ctrl+Shift+F9 or Cmd+6 to unlink all fields. Using these methods, your in-text citations and bibliography should become regular text, without field codes or any hidden links.
Select the border of the text box that you want to delete, and then press DELETE. Make sure that the pointer is on the border of the text box and not inside the text box. If the pointer is not on the border, pressing DELETE will delete the text inside the text box.
To delete text: To delete text to the right of the insertion point, press the Delete key on your keyboard.
Open the document. Move the mouse cursor over the word you want to delete. Double-click the left mouse button to highlight the entire word. Press Backspace or Delete to delete the word.
Removing Fields from Original Documents Press CTRL+SHIFT+F9 on your keyboard. This will remove the field codes, replacing them with the text they contained. Save the document.
