I personally do it for two reasons - I dont see any reason that we need to put a dollar value on a gift and there are also times where I might get a really good deal on something and again dont want to put the dollar value on it. I buy gifts for people, I buy them what they like and dont focus on what it costs.
You should never leave the price tag intact on a gift item, no matter to whomsoever you are giving it. One thing, you can do is to keep the bill with you, in case it needs to be changed.
Take it off. Enclose the gift receipt if you have one. It shows where and when you bought it but not the price in case it needs to be returned for some reason (broken, duplicate, wrong size, etc). Originally Answered: Should I remove the price tag on an item for gifting?
If you cant remove the tag, then I use black sharpie to black it out. Ive been taught to remove it and I think gift receipts dont show the price anyway. But if you dont care I wouldnt worry about it.
The thought in your heart when giving or receiving a gift might be more important than the price of the gift itself. We give gifts to people because we hope they will appreciate and love them. This is why we look for the right clues as well as put peoples tastes and interests into consideration when buying gifts.
Make sure your price tag will not be perceived as too much to avoid eliciting suspicion. If you want to give a big-ticket gift, pick one that doesnt explicitly convey how much money you spent on it. Do something to disconnect the gift from the money, says Mutluoglu.
Truthfully, if you have given some thought to what type of gift the recipient would like, the price tag is irrelevant.
Pour a liberal amount of rubbing alcohol on a clean cloth. Rub the cloth on the sticker residue. The residue should soften. Alternatively, soak the area in a small bowl of rubbing alcohol for a few minutes to soften the residue.
