sometimes we add data weve got from unit or other places and it has a bunch of fields we dont need we only want one or two of these and we dont want to drag them along so we can delete them by right-clicking on a field in the table and then selecting the delete option in the field goes away and this works for just a few fields but if we have a ton of field like some of the census data might have a hundred fields and we only need two of them to do it 498 is kind of a pain so theres a tool here in the arc toolbox called delete field the data management tools down in the fields category and so if I click on it youll see it asks for the input table and then gives me this convenient list and I can select the ones I wish to delete and say ok and it processes along and dumps them so that if I look at my table it has only the fields I want now well be introducing a lot of tools and sometimes are hard to find in the arc toolbox menu tree but the window search utility helps you look for th

Delete Custom Fields with Schema Builder Right-click on the custom field. Select Delete Field. A dialog box displays that explains the side effects of deletinga custom field. Read this information carefully. If you accept the conditions, check Yes, I want to delete the custom field. Click Delete.
