When you delete a domain, you immediately cancel your registration of that domain. As a result: Visitors to your domain dont find your website. You dont get email sent to email addresses at your domain, including email forwarding. DNS stops serving.
A space, for one, but also all sorts of punctuationcommas, m-dashes, underscores, asterisks, apostrophes, dots, and more. But in a domain name, you really only have one option: -. The hyphen, commonly known as a dash (though this is typographically not correct), is the only spacing character allowed in a domain name.
Once you register a domain with a specific extension, you cannot change it. The same name with a different extension is considered a different domain name. If you made a mistake or you simply prefer to get another extension, you need to register it separately.
The only symbol allowable in a domain name is the hyphen, which can appear anywhere in the domain name other than as the first or last character. Beyond this, the only acceptable characters are the letters A to Z and the digits 0 to 9.
In the Google Cloud console, go to the Cloud Domains page. On the Registrations page, select the domain name that you want to delete. Next to the domain name that you want to delete, click morevertMore. To remove the domain, click deleteDelete.
Domain Naming Conventions Domains can contain the English-language letters a-z, and the digits 0-9. Hyphens can also be used but it can not be used at the beginning and at the end of a domain name. Two hyphens together is usually not permitted and also hyphens cannot appear at both third and fourth positions.
Domain names can only use letters, numbers, the fada character (acute accent) and hyphens (-). Spaces and other symbols are not permitted for use. Names cannot begin or end with a hyphen and are not case sensitive.
Many registrars offer domain ownership protection that protects your domain by prohibiting the transfer, change, or deletion of your domain unless the registered owner explicitly gives permission by submitting a form.
The only valid characters for a Domain Name are letters, numbers and a hyphen -. Other characters like the underscore , an exclamation mark ! or spaces are NOT valid.
