hey guys welcome back so today im gonna go over some of the misconceptions that were having there are some confusions in regards to the pool on the gui i know in my last video that i did i said that we couldnt move the pool we couldnt delete it from the gui apparently someone had docHubed out to me and mentioned that we can and has to be done through the config file so stay with me on this one so i did a bunch of testing so the one thing i wanted to point out is you can delete a pool from the gui from the config file which is im going to show you in a little bit on my test machine but what happens is when its only empty you dont run into any problems but if you had plots assigned to that pool because its impossible to transfer lets just put it that way the only thing you can do which ive tested so far is lets just say you had two poles and theyre in the same uh theyre actually two different pools that you joined right and youre creating plots for both of them the way you c

The Remove-StoragePool cmdlet deletes a storage pool. If the storage pool contains virtual disks, you must delete the virtual disks prior to removing the storage pool.
Then go to Storage-Pools, and click the gear. Select Export/Disconnect and check all the boxes to delete your pool. Finally, go to Storage-Disks, and click the on the right of your disk to expose actions for that disk. Click Wipe and choose the thoroughness of the wipe.
All data and relevant settings will no longer be available after a storage pool has been ejected.
Caution! When you delete a storage pool all of the storage volumes and network shares which reside in the storage pool will be deleted.
Removing a disk unit from a disk pool Start SST (STRSST). Select Work with disk units. Select Work with disk configuration. Select Work with removing units from configuration. Select Remove units from configuration. Select the disk unit that you want to remove from the configuration. Confirm the function.
Caution! When you delete a storage pool all of the storage volumes and network shares which reside in the storage pool will be deleted.
In order to delete a user storage pool, you must delete all its disks using the mmdeldisk command. When GPFS deletes the last remaining disk from a user storage pool, the storage pool is also deleted.
