You can delete a or pledge after you create it. From the Journal screen on a constituent record, click the pledge you want to delete to open it. On the pledge record, click Delete. If a pledge has payments, you must delete the payments before you can delete the pledge.
Go to Customers, Create Credit Memos/Refunds. Enter the donor name, the class the pledge originally went to, and the pledge receivable account across the top. Change the Date to the year-end date. Under Item, put your new Uncollectible Pledge item and under Amount, put the amount to be written off.
After you add a pledge, you can delete it as necessary. If you delete a pledge that has already been posted to the general ledger, the program automatically sends a reversal to the general ledger. Warning: You cannot delete a pledge if a payment exists for the pledge.
Generally, pledges will appear in QuickBooks Online when a user has selected that their organization is a non-profit. If youre needing to change the name of the transaction thats sent to your customer/member, you can customize a template to do this.
Heres how: Select the Gear icon and click Custom Form Styles. If you wish to modify an existing style, select Edit in the Action column. Choose Content in the upper left of the screen. Click the top box of the preview panel to the left. Edit the form name to your desired term, such as invoice. Select Done.
