Editing Legend Box Properties Double-click inside the legend box with the pointer to display the Legend Box dialog. In the Legend Box Contents dialog, edit the width, height, line width, color of text and lines, font style, maximum font size and transparency of the legend box properties, click OK.
In the drawing area, select the legend. Click Modify Color Fill Legends tab Scheme panel Edit Scheme. In the Edit Color Scheme dialog, select a different color scheme from the list, and click OK. You can also create a new color scheme in this dialog.
Right-click on the legend object and choose Legend: Text Color Follows Plot. Set the font color as Auto on the Format toolbar.
Select the shape or text box. On the Drawing Tools Format tab, click Text Fill More Fill Colors. In the Colors box, either click the color you want on the Standard tab, or mix your own color on the Custom tab.
To create the legend for a plot in base R, we can use legend function and if the background color of the legends needs to be changed from white to any other then bg argument in legend function will be used. For example, to change the background color to red then we can use bg=red.
In the drawing area, select the color fill legend. Click Modify | Color Fill Legends tab Scheme panel (Edit Scheme). In the Edit Color Scheme dialog, change the color and fill patterns as necessary for the desired values. Click Apply to view your changes.
