Line up your scissors with the paper you want to cut. Keep your index and middle fingers still so they dont move. Move your thumb up to open the scissors and move it down to close them and cut the paper. Continue cutting along the paper to make a straight line.
The bleed is the outer limit and whatever background colour you use should go past this to avoid any white or other unprinted colour to show. The Safe zone is the inner limit where all important stuff like text, borders or images should keep within so they dont get trimmed off or look uneven.
The bleed is the area that all artwork must extend to in order to ensure there are no blank (or white) spaces left over after cutting the business card. In short, business card printers dont always cut the card to the edge of your artwork.
Bleeds: Artwork extends to the red dotted line for proper bleed. Safety: Text is inside the blue dotted line to prevent information from getting cut off. Bleeds are required in all artwork with an image extending to one of the borders. Add an eighth of an inch (0.125) to each side to allow for cutting.
Make sure that your table is secure and doesnt wobble. If the workbench moves around while youre cutting the wood, your cuts wont be straight. Make sure that all the legs are even and that the table top is level.

When cutting along a straight line drawn on a narrow sheet of paper, the dynamic interaction between the cutting and supporting hands is relatively simple. The paper is held steady and at right angle to the scissor blades so that closing the blades makes a cut along the line.
