Yes. Menstruating doesnt affect your ability to donate.
You can give blood when all wounds, injuries, minor cuts, scratches or abrasions are fully healed. You cannot give blood while awaiting medical treatment or investigations. If you have had stitches you must wait until these have been removed / dissolved and the wound is fully healed before you give blood.
In order to donate blood, a woman must have a hemoglobin level of at least 12.5 g/dL, and a man must have a hemoglobin level of at least 13.0 g/dL. For all donors, the hemoglobin level can be no greater than 20 g/dL. Separate requirements for hemoglobin level apply for Power Red.
If the patient will be receiving a bone marrow or stem cell transplant from a family member, no close blood relatives (grandparents, parents, children, siblings, aunts and uncles, first cousins, or nieces and nephews) should donate blood.
At each donation, the following mandatory tests are performed: Hepatitis B HBsAg. Human immunodeficiency virus anti-HIV 1 and 2 and HIV NAT (nucleic acid testing) Hepatitis C anti-HCV and HCV NAT.
The NIH Blood Bank and Platelet Center check your hemoglobin level before every blood donation to ensure you meet the minimum requirements for blood donation. Female blood donors must have a hemoglobin level of at least 12.5 g/dL and male blood donors must have a hemoglobin level of at least 13.0 g/dL.
This happens for a variety of reasons, for example if a donation is not the correct weight or volume, if there have been problems maintaining your donation at a safe temperature or if your donation has expired before it can be used by a hospital and is therefore potentially unsafe to transfuse.
Whole blood donation: For MEN, you can give blood if your weight is at least 50 kg (110 lb). For WOMEN, if you are aged 23 or over, you can give blood if your weight is at least 50 kg (110 lb). If you are between the ages of 18 and 22, consult with Hma-Qubec staff to find out if you can give blood.
