In HTML, we can easily add the background Image in the Html document which is to be displayed on a web page using the following different two methods: Using the Background attribute (Html Tag) Add the Background image using background attribute.
Set a background image using the HTML body element Add the bgproperties=fixed code into the body element, as shown below. Next, add the background=location attribute to the body tag, where location is the relative or absolute URL of the image. In the above example, background=bg.
Using the tag. The element is the most straight-forward way of displaying a static image on a page. You should normally use it whenever an image is actually a part of the content (as opposed to using an image as part of a pages design).
8.1 Adding An Image To A Page Open your first XHTML file in Notepad. Add the following tag, where filename is the name of an image file (.png, .gif or .jpg file) and the alt attribute has a string describing the image: Save your file and view it in a browser.
To insert an image in HTML, use the image tag and include a source and alt attribute. Like any other HTML element, youll add images to the body section of your HTML file. The HTML image element is an empty element, meaning it does not have a closing tag.
The best way to stretch an image to fit the background of an element is to use the CSS3 property, for background-size, and set it equal to cover. Take a look at this example of it in action.
