What to Know Windows: Using Alt key: type 24 (up), 25 (down), 26 (right), or 27 (left), and release Alt to create the arrow. Mac: Open the Character Viewer, select Arrows on the left, and double-click an arrow on the right. Android/iPhone: Android: Numeric keyboard hold caret symbol choose arrow.
When you apply heading styles to your document and hover your mouse over that heading, a gray arrow will appear to the left of the heading. This will allow you to expand or collapse all of the text under that heading.
That arrow means its a collapsible heading, usually an indicator of the use of Heading styles. Its a navigational aid and not visible in print.
0:00 1:21 And here I will find this shape of fill sealing now select arrows. And I will find this app arrowsMoreAnd here I will find this shape of fill sealing now select arrows. And I will find this app arrows and this is bent up arrows. And this is car operas. I will insert this a very simple appearance.
Final answer: To disable expand/collapse in Word, you need to switch off the Track Changes feature from the Review tab and use the Reviewing Pane to view changes without expansion.
The arrow represents a tab character when nonprinting marks are shown in Word. To hide all nonprinting marks, including tab characters, click File Options Display and clear all check boxes under Always show these formatting marks on the screen.
That black arrow does not print. It is there to show you an expanded heading. Apparently that paragraph is a blank paragraph. Click in it without selecting anything and change the style to Normal.
