Attributes have two parts: a name and a value.
The id global attribute defines an identifier (ID) which must be unique in the whole document. Its purpose is to identify the element when linking (using a fragment identifier), scripting, or styling (with CSS).
An attribute defines a particular property of an object, element or file. It can also refer to a specific value for a given instance of that property.
The id selector uses the id attribute of an HTML element to select a specific element. The id of an element is unique within a page, so the id selector is used to select one unique element! To select an element with a specific id, write a hash (#) character, followed by the id of the element.
HTML provides two ways to identify a document fragment: by inserting an anchor ( a ) element with the name attribute (instead of href ) or by adding the id attribute to any HTML element. Both methods act as a marker that can be referenced from a link later.
The HTML id attribute is used to specify a unique id for an HTML element.
The fragment identifier introduced by a hash mark # is the optional last part of a URL for a document. It is typically used to identify a portion of that document. The generic syntax is specified in RFC 3986.
For example, the paragraph element in the example carries an attribute whose name is align, which you can use to indicate the alignment of paragraph on the page.Generic Attributes. AttributeOptionsFunctionheightNumeric ValueSpecifies the height of tables, images, or table cells.8 more rows
