if you have a date in Excel and want to fill the column where youve got something in an adjacent column you can point to the fill handle on the date and double-click to fill down and it fills the dates in a series if you want to have all the same date while that range is selected on the keyboard press ctrl + D and that does a fill down and all the dates are the same

Format numbers to keep leading zeros in Excel for the web Select the cells on your worksheet where youll be adding the data. Right-click anywhere in the highlighted cells, and then on the shortcut menu, click Number Format Text OK. Type or paste the numbers in the formatted cells.
Excel automatically removes the leading zeros from a number when you enter it in a cell. Therefore, you cannot directly write 001 in excel and display it as such.
#3 Using Copy Paste Method First, copy the data. Then, open a notepad and paste it there. Now switch back to Excel and select the cells where you want to paste these dates. Then, we must go to Home then Number with the cells selected and select the Text format (from the drop-down). Finally, paste the date as text.
Press Ctrl-V on your keyboard to paste your copied date into the selected cell. Excel automatically formats the date to the default date format set for the current spreadsheet.
Apply Custom Format with Leading Zeros Select the cell in which you want to add zeros as a prefix. Right click ➜ Format Option or you can also use the shortcut key Ctrl + 1 open Format Cell Dialog Box. In Category ➜ Select Custom. In the custom input dialog box, enter 0000000. Click OK.
