[Music] if you have existing plans created you do have the option to copy plans from previous years so you dont have to start from scratch to do this go to benefits plans then click copy plan in the upper right hand corner in the preceding pop-up enter in the new plan start and end date the plan year then select the plan you wish to copy this will copy the previous plan coverage costs and information you then will want to click on the plan to edit the name and add the year of the plan to the name you will be able to edit any costs at a later step if needed under plans coverage you

The plan document tells the plan participants about the benefits they are entitled to under the plan and provides guidelines to be used by the plan administrator in decision-making when it comes to plan operations. It is not required to be distributed to the participants unless requested.
The Summary Annual Report is a condensed version of the information provided on Form 5500 for employee benefit plans. It includes details such as funding requirements, insurance information, basic financial statements, and participants rights to information.
ERISA requires a formal written plan document, a summary plan description (SPD), and a summary of benefits coverage (SBC).
Employers can distribute the SAR a variety of ways, including hand delivery, U.S. mail, or electronic delivery.
To Whom Must SARs Be Distributed? SARs must be distributed to plan participants, but not beneficiaries. In DOL-speak this means employees but not spouses or children covered under the plan. In addition, SARs must be distributed to COBRA beneficiaries and QMCSO alternate recipients.
Employers must distribute the SAR to each plan participant covered under the plan during the applicable plan year, including COBRA participants and terminated employees who were covered under the plan. For instance, the Form 5500 (and the associated SAR) filed in 2020 pertain the to the plan that was offered in 2019.
The SPD is a detailed guide to the benefits the program provides and how the plan works. It must describe when employees become eligible to participate in the plan, how benefits are calculated and paid, how to claim benefits, and when benefits become vested.
In addition to the summary plan description, the plan administrator must automatically give participants a copy of the plans summary annual report each year. This is a summary of the annual financial report that most plans must file with the Department of Labor.
