Clearly label all confidential information as confidential. This means writing confidential on documents or any folder you keep them in. If you are sending an email, make sure the title clearly identifies it as confidential.
CUI portion markings are contained within parentheses and may include these elements: When CUI portion markings are used and a portion does not contain CUI, a U is placed in parentheses to indicate the portion contains uncontrolled unclassified information.
The entire document must be releasable to the specified countries in order to use this marking in the overall classification marking. 2. (S//REL TO USA, AUS and NATO) This is the portion marking for a portion classified Secret authorized for release to Australia and NATO (different from the page or overall marking).
Portion markings consist of the letters (U) for unclassified, (C) for Confidential, (S) for Secret, and (TS) for Top Secret. b. (U) These abbreviations are placed, in parentheses, before the portion, or fter the title to which they apply.
