Easily conceal field in DOCM to work with documents in various formats

You can’t make document alterations more convenient than editing your DOCM files online. Open the document where the field codes are displayed. Press Alt+F9 to turn off field codes currently on the page. To turn off a field code for a specific field, click on the field and press Shift+F9 instead. Click the Office button and select Word Options to turn off field codes by default.
Once the merge field has been modified, place the cursor within the braces and press F9 to hide the field code. To toggle all of the merge fields in a document, press Alt+F9.

Merge fields appear in curly brackets in your Word document. Press Alt + F9 to toggle the field coding on and off, and you will see the merge field coding appear and disappear in the document. To add merge fields, click Insert Quick Parts Field and select MergeField from the field names list.
Click File Options Display, and then under Always show these formatting marks on the screen, select the Hidden text check box. Click File Options Advanced, and then under Show document content, select the Show drawings and text boxes on screen check box.
